ABOUT ME

I am a Medical Doctor who also provides a counselling service to my clients. I have 20 years of experience in General Practice, working with clients across different age and background. I graduated with my medical degree from the University of New South Wales, Sydney.

 

The psychological treatments I provide attract Medicare Rebates. Being a General Practitioner means I will do the Mental Health Care Plan so you do not need a referral from another practitioner before you can see me. The amount of rebate you will receive varies according to whether you would like to see me under the Mental Health Care Plan (optional).

 

The approach I have when treating patients and clients in counselling is to hear their story, support them in whatever way they need to grow and find their own identity, and unconditionally accept everyone in their own development.

I am a committee member at the Australian Society of Psychological Medicine. I work with clients from 14 years old and above, providing Person-Centred Therapy with additional elements from other modalities including Neuroscience, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (advanced certified), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Internal Family Systems, using a trauma-informed approach. I am accredited as a Level 2 Focussed Psychological Strategies Provider under GPMHSC. I am a member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.

I have fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, and am experienced in helping clients from multicultural communities.
